The Mobile Health Unit Manager facilitates all resourced services offered by the mobile unit. The Mobile Health Unit Manager works closely with other department managers in creating the schedule for the mobile unit and ensures necessary staffing to maintain operation. This role will maintain strong community partnerships and is responsible for outreach and promotion of all mobile unit activities and acts as primary contact for both internal and external partners. The Mobile Health Unit Manager assures that the delivery of high quality, cost efficient, culturally sensitive services comply with all federal, state and local agency policies and procedures as well as those at Eisner Health.
- Develops and distributes written material on the mobile unit services and activities to the community and responds to community requests for information on services provided.
- Researches, plans and executes plans, working closely with staff and other partnering organizations to ensure success.
- Coordinates quality assurance program for the mobile health unit.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Working with the facilities team, ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment and is responsible for oversight of mobile unit operations.
- Achieves financial objectives by participating in Operation and Facilities discussions; expenditures; analyzing variances; budgets.
- Manages expenses to ensure efficiency and cost containment, and to meet budget guidelines.
- Serves as on-site manager of all mobile unit activities and handles complex issues and questions as needed.
- Resolves customer complaints, and answers customers' questions regarding policies and procedures.
- Represents Eisner Health and the mobile unit on community committees, and at outreach and community events.
- Acts as a liaison with schools and communities where services are provided.
- Coordinates and publishes schedule for the mobile unit to ensure smooth operations.
- Plans and manages staffing of mobile unit employees, including medical and dental providers, nursing, outreach, patient services, dental staff, and drivers, in consultation with managers of those departments.
- Develops work schedules and coordinates vacation time for mobile unit staff.
- Prepares and issues work schedules, deadlines, and duty assignments of mobile unit staff, and helps as needed.
- Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems, and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
- Discusses any job performance problems with supervisors to identify causes and issues, and to work on resolving problems.
- Coordinates activities with other supervisory personnel, and with other work units or departments.
- Interprets and communicates work procedures and company policies to staff.
- Develops and maintains metrics reports to measure success of the events and sponsorships.
- Prepares and submits reports based on findings and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Develops and implements strategies for improving access, quality standards, effectiveness, and participation based on statistical results, evaluations, surveys, and feedback from attendees and sponsors.
- Examines data and community need to determine future mobile unit sites and identifies and contacts prospective new partners.
- Works with business partners to manage best practices to attain maximum benefit to the community and sponsors.
- Recognizes potential areas where existing company policies require change, and where new ones need to be developed and makes recommendations.
- Implements departmental policies, procedures, and service standards under direction of the COO or designee.
- Perform other duties as assigned by COO.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
· Five years progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations or a related field, with at least three years at a management level.
· Demonstrated experience as a clinic manager or manager of a similar healthcare setting.
· Experience with Mobile Clinics preferred.
· Thorough understanding of outpatient and managed care principle and systems, including team-based care principals, HIPAA & HITECH regulations.
· Experience working for or with Federally Qualified Health Centers is preferred.
· Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
· Possession of strong business and technical writing abilities and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
· Highly organized, efficient, and detailed practices which result in the ability to manage multiple and complex projects on time
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with common office procedures and equipment, including multi-line telephones, faxes, copiers, and scanners.
· Previous NextGen and database management, population health management platform, text messaging platform, and/or SQL experience preferred.
· Current California driver’s license, State-required insurance and a driving record acceptable to the Center’s insurance carrier, when using personal vehicle on Center business.
