STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company is currently seeking a Director of Operations to support our Charlotte, NC & Indianapolis, IN facilities. As the Director of Operations, you will plan, develop, and oversee the manufacturing operations of Charlotte, NC and Indianapolis, IN. Additional manufacturing locations may be included in the future. This includes the hiring and development of manufacturing teams in each location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Confers with company officials to plan business objectives, develop organizational policies, and coordinate functions and operations between divisions and departments and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • Generates activity reports and productivity statements to determine progress in reaching objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
  • Directs and coordinates formulation of financial programs to provide funding for new or continuing operations to maximize returns on investments and to increase productivity.
  • Plans and develops industrial labor, safety, lean manufacturing practices for each production facility.
  • Evaluates performance of executives for compliance with established policies and contributions to meeting plant objectives.
  • Presents ideas on lean manufacturing practices, improvement and optimization of factory flow and operations.
  • Manages General Managers within the region as well as supervisors in Accounting, Administrative, Production, Customer Service, Sales, Shipping and Receiving, Warehouse and Design. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Determines supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Oversees and makes recommendations on volume requirements of linerboard, capital and other significant purchases.
  • Interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university or university program certificate; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s degree in Business Management.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs: ie Excel, Word, Power-point to communicate and analyze information and communicate effectively to employees and customers.
  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Present information and respond to questions from corporate associates, financial institutions, employees at all levels, customers and the general public.
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Analytical uses intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Generates creative solutions.
  • Have knowledge of accounting software, Contact Management systems, Development software, Internet software, manufacturing software.
  • Project Management to develop and coordinate project plans.
  • Ability to share technical skills and expertise with others.
