Description
  • Recruit and select eligible Early Head Start children and families across all program models, in order to maintain full enrollment in accordance with the ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance) plan.
  • Complete applications with eligible Early Head Start families across all program models, maintain a prioritized waiting list for replacement of potential Early Head Start children.
  • Upon a child withdrawing, within 30 days, fill vacancy with an eligible child from the wait list in accordance with program policies.
  • Assist families with the development of the Family Partnership Agreement (Family Goal Plan) based on family input, the needs assessment and staff observations. Assist families in accessing referral services as needed. Follow up on referrals as needed. Monitor and revise Family Partnership Agreement (Family Goal Plan) and document progress or revisions as needed.
  • Work in collaboration with staff in the delivery of services to families through regularly scheduled meetings and/or exchange of information regarding individual children and families.
  • Work with families to obtain child health history and dental screenings. Consult with EHS health specialist for health information and follow-up of health assessments, immunizations, and dental screenings. Assist families, as needed, with medical and dental appointments for their children.
  • Organize and facilitate Local Parent Meetings, elections and training of officers. Engage families in Policy Council. Inform parents of the different volunteer roles and parent involvement opportunities that are available with the Early Head Start program. Document family volunteer time and community volunteer time on Early Head Start in-kind forms.
  • Support classroom staff with maintaining 85% or higher classroom attendance. Make direct contact through a phone call and/or home visit if the child is absent (2) days in a row. Follow procedure for (1) hour phone call. Inform and educate parents on the importance of regular attendance.
  • Function as a team to contribute to the atmosphere of teamwork with all service areas of Early Head Start.
  • Participate in required professional development training and activities.
  • Respond to other needs of the program as indicated by Supervisor/Administrator.


Qualifications
  • Associates degree in social Services, Human Services or Counseling required. B.A. / B.S. degree in Social Services, Human Services, Counseling or a related field, preferred
  • Strengths-based Family Workers Credential preferred or 12 credits in Family Studies.
  • Excellent time management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Current criminal history clearance, child abuse clearance and FBI clearance (Act33/34/151) required.
  • Personal transportation, insurance and valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to comply with AIU Conduct Policy.
