Job Title: Vocational Direct Support Professional

Weekly Hours: Full time; Monday - Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm

Job Summary:
The Vocational Specialist assures a safe and caring environment for the Launch participants during program activities. The Vocational Specialist will effectively implement the Community Day Based Supports (CDBS) and Vocational curriculum that address the goals and visions of the participant’s individual support plan. The Vocational Specialist will provide support, assistance and instruction to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in areas that empower their growth toward self-sufficiency and independence in the workplace and community. The Vocational Specialist will provide support to individuals and small groups as directed in order to assure quality service delivery and positive programmatic outcomes and program strategic plans. The Vocational Specialist is a role model for Launch Program participants, parents/guardians, community members, volunteers and staff in presenting a positive and cooperative attitude.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists Program Director and other Vocational Specialists in providing a positive, safe, and goal-orientated environment.
- Assists Program Director in planning and implementing the CDBS and Vocational curriculum.
- Assists in organizing the daily schedule and monitors daily attendance.
- Assists Program Director and other Vocational Specialists in updating program records including emergency and health information, contact lists, monthly progress notes, yearly assessments and participant’s resumes.
- Is responsible for contributing to a cooperative team approach with other staff members, volunteers and participants.
- Positively delegates tasks to participants assuring that activities are conducted in a healthy, safe, productive, educational and enjoyable manner.
- Works to foster community relationships within job sites and volunteer settings.
- Assures/Assists participants to complete jobs to employer’s satisfaction.
- Implements the CDBS and Vocational curriculums that address the goals and visions of the participant’s individual support plan.
- Actively engages in staff meeting and team discussions aimed at strengthening service delivery and positive communication among staff members.
- Maintains, secures and cleans up facility after program ending.
- Maintain participant’s privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Reports any suspected allegations of abuse and neglect to the DPPC.
- Participates in Zoom platform by presenting activities and supporting consumers.
- Follows all COVID-19 policies and procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
