Position Summary:

The current Vice President of Grants Submission will train this hire, who reports to the Executive Vice

President/Chief of Staff. This executive-level professional position operates in a fluid environment with changing priorities, with the ultimate goal of leading a team of grant writers and submitting quality applications on time.

Experience with federal and state of state grant programs is preferred. Pennsylvania agency programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED)
  • Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR)
  • Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD)
  • Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
  • Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
  • Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)

Primary Role Responsibilities:

  • Research and stay up to date on Pennsylvania grant programs.
  • Supervise grant writing team and delegate duties.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of clients and their needs.
  • Maintain an open-line policy with clients and employees.
  • Identify appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Strategically plan beyond one grant cycle.
  • Proactively work to avoid crisis situations.
  • Work with clients and their delegates (engineers, architects, elected officials, etc.) to acquire information associated with applications.
  • Track and monitor application efforts and activities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, etc., required; graduate degree preferred.
  • Must maintain confidential information and uphold a high level of professionalism.
  • Possess five years of experience in government, non-profit, philanthropy, or related field.
  • Able to supervise staff proficiently, organize tasks, and prioritize projects.
  • Possess outstanding judgment, initiative, and drive.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to use experience and good judgment to make appropriate decisions.
  • Possess outstanding computer skills and literacy and be willing to learn and use new software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Possess a general understanding of the proposal development process.
  • Exhibit strong initiative and be able to manage simultaneous projects.
  • Hold high standards regarding accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibit excellent troubleshooting skills.

Work Environment and Travel Requirements

Remote work is acceptable, and travel is not required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
