Summary

The Carpenter should have expert proficiency in trim carpentry and casework construction skills. This individual may work alone or with others to perform tasks involving physical labor during building and demolition including setting braces, erect scaffolding, and general concrete work. In this role, Carpenters are expected to work with, or without, supervision to complete duties in a manner that meets, or exceeds, standards set by Brackett Builders Inc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, and clean up, work sites remove rubble and debris
  • Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work
  • Install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation, door frames, hinges, and closures
  • Accurately measure, interpret, compute, and draw measurements
  • Communicate clearly with Superintendent regarding status of job completion
  • Read and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Accurately complete paperwork required for daily job reports, timesheets, etc.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner while upholding safety standards of Bracket Builders Inc.
  • Safely operate machinery, hand tools, and power tools
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of related experience or training
  • Valid Driver's License (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and site plans
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Work Environment

The Carpenter works in a variety of interior and exterior conditions. While most work is completed indoors, work conditions may vary due to remodeling, relocation, or restructuring.

Physical Requirements

The Carpenter's physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
