We are looking for a Transportation Operations Coordinator to join our Transportation team located in Compton, CA.

Reporting to Drayage & Operations Manager, the Noble House Services Transportation Operations Coordinator is responsible for key deliverables including, but not limited to: ensuring efficient coordination of the internal drayage fleet and third party partners to maximize pickup and return to ports; mitigating and minimizing Demurrage and “Per Diem” fees with terminals and steamship companies; maintaining Company standards (e.g., improving on delivery services through the internal driver roster and Third party driver supply partners. This position ensures accurate invoicing of chargebacks from third party carriers, terminal and steamship lines. This position also helps to schedule trucks and facility equipment for compliance purposes. This is a fast-paced environment and we are looking for a self-starter, who will be able to scale the operation. The perfect candidate will have a solid knowledge of Port logistics fundamentals and challenges and prior experience in driver and/or owner operator coordination. This is an hourly position, overtime may be required, including nights and weekends.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE INVOLVE?

Essential Job Duties:
  • Receive, review, approve and dispute drayage transportation invoices accordingly.
  • Check for available containers for all serviced regional ports.
  • Schedule and assign appointments for daily dispatch assistance.
  • Coordinate empty container returns to the regional ports, prioritizing oldest to newest.
  • Advise coordination of container deliveries to each regional warehouse/distribution center (loaded containers and empty containers).
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly billing for NH Services.
  • Cross train and cover other regional ports as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by department supervisor, manager, and/or executive management.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Generally requires a minimum of 1 year of Drayage Transportation Industry or related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Familiar with Dept. of Transportation regulations and Port operations.
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of Port regulations and assigned warehouses
