We are currently looking for Direct Support Professionals to work within our transition services residential home which is contracted through the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare. Shift is Monday-Friday 7a-3p, 3p-11p, or 11p-7a. Hours are flexible.. This is a sleeping shift.

Direct Support Professionals work with individuals with disabilities helping them to learn independent living skills, encourage self-advocacy, assist them with working towards their goals and fulfilling their dreams.

DSP’s working within our transitional services program will:

• Provide supervision and actively engage with participants
• Help maintain a safe living environment
• Offer counseling and crisis intervention
• Communicate with the Department of Health & Welfare regarding participant programming
• Assist individuals with money management, housekeeping, personal hygiene, meal preparation, grocery shopping and other routine needs
• Provide transportation to social outings, doctors’ appointments and other activities
• Assist with medications and medication management
• Assist with personal care needs as necessary
• Assist with planning and preparing nutritional meals
• Work as a strong team to provide the best possible supports to the individuals in this home
• Maintain regular paperwork including reports, behavioral assessments, medication logs, casework notes, program implementation plans and daily service logs

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Be a high school graduate, have a GED, or demonstrate the ability to provide services according to a plan of service.
• Have at least 3 months experience working with adults with developmental disabilities implementing programs for maladaptive behaviors that include physical aggression and/or property destruction
• Have a valid Driver’s License
• Have reliable transportation and car insurance
• The ability to pass a Federal Background Check
• Be free of communicable diseases and skin lesions
• CPR & First Aid Certified (will pay for training after being hired)
• Assistance with Medications Certified (will pay for training after being hired)
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to help cover vacations/call outs within this specific home only
• Must be willing work with individuals that may display physical or verbal aggression and/or property destruction
