Uses some independent judgement and familiarity with the field to perform work. May provide input into the
development of policies and procedures. May be responsible for the administration of moderate complexity
departmental programs.
Position Summary
Responsible for the development and overall execution of policies and procedures related to the administration
and security of Districtwide State and local testing programs. The District Testing Coordinator will act as the liaison
between SAISD Director of Testing and partnering assessment vendors. Develop and facilitate all training sessions
and materials for the professional development of all district campus and leadership. Ensure trainings and
expectations comply with federal, state, local, and district policies, rules, and regulations
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Verify, collect, and distribute materials for all state mandated assessments; ensure campus testing are in
compliance and adhere to district procedures.
2. Investigate and prepare reports for reported testing irregularities using some independent judgement.
Provide documentation to aid in the development of actions plan in response to test administration.
3. Collaborate with principals and teachers to meet the instructional needs of students and apply best
practices; interprets testing procedures and regulations for campus personnel.
4. Serves as a liaison between campuses and senior level coordinators for proper implementation of
assessment guidelines and criteria.
5. Promote the growth and success of the program; ensure services and resources are available to students.
6. Support the district across multiple disciplines to support an integrated design that promotes consistency
in testing and a collaborative approach to assessment. Assist departments with ensuring the
understanding of secure student accessibility features, designated supports, and accommodations to
address individual student needs effectively.

7. Provide input in assessment planning and handbook development sessions with various departments,
Special Programs, and administrators to assure security and compliance in testing and sustain integrity in
student testing data.
8. Provide input for a continuum of services that consider individual school initiatives.
9. Facilitate training and professional development for district stakeholders. Promotes and ensures
workshops, conferences, and trainings are in alignment with assessment requirements.
10. Participate with campus observations under moderate supervision to provide feedback for improvement.
11. Ensure information is communicated on testing program requirements and any updates or changes to
legislative bills to campus.
12. Provide input for testing budget including systems for on-line assessment, and a tracking/auditing system
on actual money spent.
13. Coordinate transportation and food services for students while testing on campuses; ensures campuses
are informed and any updates are communicated promptly.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected
for this position.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in a testing coordinator or similar role to include:
o Experience with administration, evaluation, and analysis of assessment and accountability data.
o Experience working with special population such as ELL, Special Education, and gifted learners.
- Valid Teaching Certification.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse groups of individuals
utilizing tact and diplomacy.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with district administrators and school staff.
- Demonstrated ability to convey information regarding assessments TEA and SAISD
requires and the testing process to Campus Testing Coordinators, students, and
their families.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills for creating and adding value in a high stake fast
paced environment.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Word,
Excel).

Work Environment:
- Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and
equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
- Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional
exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting,
standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing,
speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15 -44 pounds.
