Provide area-wide support for troubleshooting and resolving Audio-Visual technical problems in the College’s instructional technology classrooms, conference rooms and centers. Installs and replaces equipment such as projectors, TV’s and speakers and performs regular maintenance on technology classroom and video conferencing systems. Supports employees in the operation of technologies. Performs quarterly maintenance and responds to user requests through ticket requests.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS :
1. Performs quarterly preventative maintenance on all instructional technology classrooms, conference rooms and centers.
2. Assists in researching and implementing AV schematics and recommend upgrades and installation ideas for advanced technologies into work spaces.
3. Transports a variety of equipment and supplies required to complete assignments at various college locations. Includes picking up materials and equipment from vendors.
4. Maintains a current inventory of college owned instructional media and video conferencing resources.
5. Work collaboratively with other college departments to implement A/V technology systems.
6. Maintains a current inventory of college owned technology resources.
7. Documents all work in a consistent and effective fashion to enable coworkers to understand and use the information recorded.
8. Assists with providing support to faculty and staff related to instructional classrooms, conference room and centers including training on new installations. Provide customer training on new installations and prepares written documents for user training and operation.
9. Identify and attend training to keep skills relevant and to keep abreast of new technologies.
10. Provides on-site or remote setup, technical support, and troubleshooting for all video and web conferences, course conferencing, and video streaming events.
11. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
1. Knowledge of multiple technologies and appropriate installation and operation.
2. Knowledge of delivery technology equipment, projectors, cabling, and projector installation.
3. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve problems quickly with an attention to detail.
4. Mechanical ability to install, replace, and complete maintenance on instructional media equipment.
5. Dexterity to use small tools and complete cable connections.
6. Ability to read diagrams, documents and computer screens.
7. Ability to lift 100 lbs occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs frequently, climb a ladder and work in tight places.
8. Ability to adapt to frequent changes in technologies.
9. Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines.
10. Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
11. Good listening and communication skills.
12. Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and understanding in stressful situations.
13. Ability to develop proficient computer skills including email, record keeping, data base management, and Microsoft Office.
14. Ability to work with people at various technical skill levels.
15. Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with college employees and other outside contacts while practicing good interpersonal and customer service skills.
16. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
17. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

Associate’s degree, preferably in a technology related field with two (2) years of FT experience providing audiovisual media and hardware support.
CTS training or attain within first 3 months.
Electricity Safety training or willing to take in first 3 months.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
