D&D Construction Specialties, Inc. is a foundation, drilling, and shoring contractor looking for a highly skilled concrete estimator with vast experience in structural concrete. Ideal candidate will need to have a thorough understanding of foundations, drilling, shoring, podium decks, hillside projects, multi-level concrete projects, etc. D&D Construction is an EOE and drug free company. Prior field experience in concrete is highly desirable.

Overall planning and management of Concrete estimating activities for specific construction projects, including preparation, interpretation, and presentation of estimates.

Job Description:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
• Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
• Determine labor and construction equipment costs
• Prepare conceptual estimates
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
• Compare competitive trade bids
• Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with the Project Manager Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)
• Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors
• Participate in bid compilation on bid day
• Assist Jobsite staff with estimates after bid award
• Perform post-bid buyouts (if applicable)
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Supervise and train estimating staff (if applicable)
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
• Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations
• Working knowledge of construction costs and principles
• Estimating experience (quantity takeoffs, purchasing accounting; engineering design knowledge, and project management experience desirable)
• Drafting and computer skills

As a Structural Concrete Estimator/Project Manager You:

• Must be able to properly analyze plans and specifications to organize a project from bidding to completion
• Work with sub-contractors on quotes for projects that meet the specification documents and issue proper purchase orders
• Quality control for projects from the planning phase to completion to include overall budget, scheduling, forecasting, change orders, and performance
• Overall budgeting, scheduling, and constant tracking of projects
• Provide unit pricing for material and labor costs
• Itemize trade-specific scopes and formulate bid packages

Requirements:

• College Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or minimum 5+ years of construction estimating and project management field
• Working knowledge of construction industry practices and procedures
• Must have heavy concrete experience
• Excellent English written and verbal skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Computer Savvy

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
