Conservation Law Foundation’s (CLF’s) pro bono “Senior Fellows” support the organization’s mission of protecting New England’s environment for all people.

Senior Fellows Program

CLF established the Senior Fellows Program to harness the capacity of mid-and late-career lawyers and other professionals who want to donate their time and expertise during a professional transition such as returning from a career break, switching from private sector to nonprofit work, or moving into retirement. The program offers flexible, part-time opportunities to gain valuable pro bono experience and nonprofit contacts while contributing meaningfully to the organization’s mission.

CLF’s Senior Fellows have worked across all of our program areas, from Healthy and Resilient Communities to Environmental Justice, Clean Energy and Climate Change, Ocean Conservation and more. Senior Fellows are asked to make an initial one-year volunteer commitment of at least 10 to 20 hours per week, and many continue their involvement with CLF after the first year.

Senior Fellows come from a variety of professional backgrounds and are selected and assigned to projects based on their interests and relevant expertise, and CLF’s needs. Current areas of desired expertise include general litigation, energy law, environmental science and/or compliance, marine science, GIS and spatial analysis, and library and information science.
