Scholars Unlimited is a community-based non-profit program helping young learners master critical literacy skills. Our mission is to foster academic, social, and emotional growth for children living in low-income communities. Our after-school program is geared toward grades K-5 and includes reading, SEL, STEM, and enrichment components. These programs are educational, engaging, and effective.
Scholars Unlimited is currently recruiting Site Directors for our after-school session for the 2022-2023 school year. Site Directors will be responsible for coordinating Scholars Unlimited’s school site-based extended learning tutoring, enrichment, and family literacy programs at public elementary schools, Scholars Unlimited's program will start September 6, 2022, and end May 12, 2023. The program will be held in our partner schools in Northeast Denver, Southwest Denver, Central Denver, North Aurora, Sheridan, and Westminster. Hours of the program will vary with the school's dismissal bell times. Typically the hours may start as early as 2:00 pm and go as late as 6:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate Scholars Unlimited’s school site-based extended learning tutoring, enrichment, and family literacy programs at public elementary schools, including:
Overall program coordination and supervision
Oversee student activity planning and scheduling Student behavior and safety management
Child care licensure compliance
Staff support and supervision
Occasional substituting for Scholars Unlimited staff at the site
Liaison between Scholars Unlimited and school
Coordination of space, materials, and equipment
Committed to keeping the integrity of program design
Committed to implementing the best practices of Scholars Unlimited
Other schools and Scholars Unlimited’s responsibilities as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Must have 3 years (5,460 hours) of verifiable experience with elementary school-aged children
- Program coordination skills, including the ability to plan, specify tasks, supervise staff, problem solve, and implement activities
- Knowledge, experience, and expertise in youth development, behavior management, enrichment programs, tutoring
- Communication skills, including written, verbal and strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain records
- Ability to follow protocol and adhere to program and external procedures
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with diverse populations and experience in working with children
- The Spanish language is highly desirable.
- Ability to be qualified as a child care program director, which includes educational experience with education, child development, and/or recreation management
- Strong computer skills (Office and data entry skills)
- BA or BS Degree preferred
Compensation: $20/hr-$22/hr
Hours of Work: This position is 20 hours per week. Hours for this position are Monday – Friday, times will depend upon the school site bell times.
