About the Role

We are hiring a Risk Analyst who is data-driven and has strong analytical & technical skills. In this role, you will work on the P2P / Instant Transfer team and will play a key role in launching new products and optimizing loss rates on the existing portfolio. You'll work closely with product, engineering, data analytics, and finance teams and work well with key stakeholders across many departments.

Goals will be based around empathizing with our customer pain points, and working to improve the experience, while also ensuring bad actors are unable to exploit our good members or monetize in our platform. The ongoing pursuit of crafting a fraud free, frictionless experience for our members is never ending, but is forever rewarding and exciting.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $96,800 and up to $131,800. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Proactively, and in response to loss events, explore data to find opportunities to reduce losses with minimal impact to member experience
  • Develop new data driven rules that balance rule performance between member experience and fraud loss reduction
  • Incorporate proprietary fraud models into existing and new rule sets
  • Build and maintain concrete dashboards and reports to track Risk performance against defined loss and member success metrics
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to understand the Product Roadmap and identify likely fraud attack vectors

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 3+ years of experience in a Fraud, Compliance, Risk, or Investigations role.
  • 1+ years of analytical experience, preferably at a FinTech company.
  • Excellent SQL advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience in Python preferred
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry risk trends, including familiarity with risk strategy development
  • Exceptional detail-orientation and organizational skills. You are eager to solve challenging analytical problems for our members
  • The drive to work in a fast-paced environment and exceed ambitions deadlines while ensuring flawless completion
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitatively rigorous discipline like engineering, statistics, math, or economics is preferred
