School Based Behavioral Health Liaison Job at Carey Counseling Center, Inc
The School-based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL) program provides direct mental health services in the school system. This program is a prevention model designed to provide services to children at risk for developing mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Liaisons are able to provide mental health training for teachers and school staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Individual school-based interventions
2. Advocacy, linkage and referral services as-needed
3. Mental health assessments and evaluations
4. Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings and other school-related meetings
5. Group sessions with children and/or parents
6. Assist school personnel by providing therapeutic support
7. Mental health training for teachers and school staff
Requirements and Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, from an accredited university. Prior experience preferred.
