Surgery Scheduler
- Schedule surgery
- Counsel patients prior to surgery
- Prepare patient’s pre-op orders
- Prepare copy and distribute schedule for the surgery center and the surgeon(s) the week before surgery and assistant(s) the day before surgery
- Input IOL calculations in system software
- Maintain IOL outcomes data, collect and calculate diagnostic data
- Run IOL calculations when requested by the doctor
- Coordinate with ASC staff regarding lenses in stock
- Pre-certifications for all surgeries
- Coordinate any outside appointments necessary prior to surgery (i.e. pre-op medical clearance, pre-op B Scans, retina evals)
- Ensure that all pre-op testing reports are in the patient’s chart and reviewed by the surgeon prior to surgery
- Ensure informed consents and surgery orders are documented in charts before surgery, including risks and benefits of each procedure
- Organize and account for all pre-op charts the day before surgery
This position offers opportunity for growth and advancement. Candidates should be quick learners, have attention to detail, take direction well, be highly motivated, have a flexible schedule and must have medical background. Position requires high energy and the ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment. Experience in ophthalmology a plus. Candidate should be willing to be cross-trained in other positions in order to increase office efficiency.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
