Mental and Behavioral Health Program Assistant (Scheduling Assistant)
Full-time; 32-40 hr/week
Monday-Friday; 9-6pm
Hiring Range; $16.79-$18.30/hr, depending upon experience
Position Summary
The Program Assistant will be responsible for coordinating services for the Behavioral Mental Health Services. This will include scheduling and administrative support for therapy staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist in facilitating group activities, as needed.
2. Provides responsible and customer-focused care.
3. Assists with reception duties including fielding calls, greeting clients, and performing other clerical duties as assigned.
4. Assists with scheduling treatment appointments and ensuring completion of intake paperwork.
5. Assist participants with community resources, including accessing transportation resources and providing help with various system’s navigation.
6. Communicate effectively and efficiently with other team members, supervisors, and coordinators.
7. Assist with quality assurance measures for participants, including auditing of files.
8. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding, patients and families.
9. Represent Ariel in a positive and professional manner.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
1. Must work closely with other Ariel Programs and offices.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Skilled in maintaining a high level of confidentiality in all areas related to working at Ariel.
2. Ability to demonstrate regular attendance and work outside of traditional office hours and settings including evenings as necessary to meet the needs of the agency and individuals served.
3. Ability to provide excellent customer service and meet professional standards of work performed.
4. Knowledge of rules and regulations related to the program.
5. The ability to read, speak and write in English.
6. The ability to effectively communicate verbally, electronically, and in written format in both individual and group settings.
7. Ability to be flexible, and able to change direction rapidly, with a positive and respectful attitude.
8. Knowledge of basic computer functions and technology including Excel.
9. Skilled in critical thinking and use of sound judgment to arrive at a positive outcome.
Education and Experience
Required:
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated success in working with children and families.
- A minimum of 60 credit hours of college level education.
Certifications/Licenses
Required:
- Valid Regular Driver’s License, with acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands
1. This position requires that the incumbent be capable of bending, sitting, stretching, and/or reaching regularly for periods up to 2 hours without a break.
2. This position requires that the incumbent have adequate hand and finger dexterity to properly perform the functions of the position.
3. This position requires occasionally lifting 10 pounds.
4. This position requires the ability to hear, see, smell, and distinguish temperature, at a level which is adequate to ensure client and staff health and safety. Adaptive devices are acceptable.
