We are seeking full-time and part-time candidates for morning, evening, and weekend coverage. Ideal candidates are personable, persuasive, and enthusiastic. This is a seasonal position and weekend availability is a must.

About us: The Spice & Tea Exchange is a specialty retail shop in the heart of Old Town Alexandria selling a wonderland of spices, herbs, teas, blends and related products. We are energetic multitaskers who are committed to creating an AMAZING customer experience by listening to customer needs to ensure they don’t leave empty handed AND work together to maintain product production and store appearance.

Preferred Skills & Requirements:

• Retail sales experience - What is your track record? Is it proven, measurable, and refrenceable? (please include dates of employment) Or an enthusiastic positive I-can-learn-it attitude if retail experience is limited.
• Stellar customer service - Being an ambassador of our brand providing a world-class shopping experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and understand/follow priorities
• Strong communication skills - Can work well in a close-knit, collaborative environment and can become a valued member of our team.
• Personable - Working face-to-face with a wide variety of customers providing exemplary service.

Specific requirements:

• Previous retail experience
• Must be over 18
• Candidates must have the ability to utilize basic math skills in measuring ingredients, reading a scale and precisely following recipes
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office tools and the internet
• Interest or inclination in the culinary arts, cooking, teas, etc.
