Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an insurance defense litigation firm specializing in personal injury and catastrophic injury claims. We are seeking an energetic, hard-working, organized, and dedicated Expert Retention/ Trial Preparation Assistant to join our team in our Irvine office.

- Responsible for retaining the experts as requested by attorneys.
- Securing expert's agreement to serve on the case, CVs and fee schedules.
- Ensure retainers are requested from the carrier and that any invoices for retainers and/or retainer agreements are forwarded to the carrier.
- Providing the initial set of documents for the expert to review.
- Scheduling Independent Medical Examination with experts.
- Maintaining constant flow, production and organization of medical records, radiology studies and documents for files on a daily basis.
- Manage firm trial calendar to include coordination with attorneys and legal assistants regarding upcoming trials.
- Preparation of trial exhibit binders.
- Assist attorneys with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and demonstrative exhibits including charts, graphs, and video editing.
Expert Retention/ Trial Preparation Assistant requirements:
- Must be technologically savvy.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Strong organizational and task management skills are required.
- Ability to prioritize and maintain important deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Prior law firm experience required.
