Research Scientist / Sr. Research Scientist

Our next Research Scientist / Sr. Research Scientist will be accountable for personal care formula/ingredient fundamental research, accelerating product development and technology innovation through integration and interpretation of designed studies. Will contribute to deliver the global PCP liquids innovation program, drive in-depth understanding of technology fundamentals, support product flawless implementation with speed and quality.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for formula ingredient interaction research, investigate mode of actions, interpret results, determine formulation principles impacting key attributes and product performance

• Collaborate with the team, apply the learnings and knowledge gained from the fundamental research to new product development and improve speed-to-market

• Provide expertise on emulsions deep dive, explore physical/chemical properties needed to enhance cosmetic elegance, quality, performance, and overall usage experience

• Support product development and optimization through integration and interpretation of test data and research.

• Use technical expertise and creativity to proactively identify potential problems and address them using appropriate resources

• Identify next gen functional ingredients with enhanced performance and sustainability

• Monitor the latest technology/ingredient breakthroughs by drawing on industry contacts, scientific literature, conferences, and patent filings

Basic requirements

• PhD in surfactants, colloid, or related interdisciplinary fields.

• Highly knowledgeable and having extensive experience on surfactants, colloids, micro-emulsion, coacervation,and dispersion systems as well as ingredient interactions in such complex systems

• Have deep fundamental understanding and extensive hands-on experience on rheology, tensiometry, dynamic light scattering, electron microscopy, ect

• Preferably have experience and knowledge on using surfactant chemistry in consumer products and in joint projects with industry partners

Skills and Abilities

• Be able to initiate, think independently, and work effectively in a dynamic & cross functional working environment.

• Be a self-motivated scientist who works well in a team environment with scientists and engineers holding a variety of different backgrounds, skills, and experiences.

• Have excellent oral and written communication skills. Be able to communicate complex technical results

• effectively to technical and non-technical personnel in oral presentations and writing documentations.

• Have a very strong record of peer-reviewed publications

Salary Range $88,800 - $131,250 USD
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive
offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
