This position will report to the manager of the PM/ISSO (Project Management/ Information Systems Specialist Office). The position will be a subject matter expert who understands the technology systems and needs of the departments they support, specifically Human Resources. The position will: develop business and technical requirements; configure and customize systems; design and build reports and queries; perform testing and quality assurance; and act as a liaison between IT and the supported business departments. Often, team projects and initiatives will drive the work of the role. However, there will be occasions where the position will perform as an individual contributor and work independently. There will be overtime and weekend hours from time to time depending on the nature of the project or support needs, as well as the need to respond to occasional enterprise application outages/escalations.
Essential Functions:
- Technical & Business Support - Provide operational, functional and technical support for the design, development, configuration, and/or customization of 3rd Party or custom enterprise applications, systems, and services. Perform business and technical analysis and documentation associated with system maintenance/patching, modifications, and enhancements. Design/author system/service requirements, configurations, and specifications, working closely with enterprise software engineers. Participate, coordinate, and/or document the design, planning, scheduling, and execution of unit, system, and user acceptance testing. Review new systems, modules, and workflows for potential implementation. Mentor and share knowledge on new or enhanced technologies to all stakeholders. Liaise with vendors. Interact effectively in a highly-paced, collaborative, and multi-stakeholder environment.
- Client/Information Expertise and Support [Human Resources is the core client for this role] - Use HR systems knowledge and experience to partner with HR subject matter experts to design, develop, and maintain HR systems. Other smaller unit systems may also be assigned. Create/transform business needs into user, functional, and system requirements. Continuously develop and deepen business and functional knowledge of HR & other systems. Manage and/or system administrate assigned enterprise systems/services, including the Banner HR module. Develop, write, and/or facilitate complex HR reports in Argos. Use various development tools related to HR and other clients. Provide Tier 1/2 enterprise support. Help, facilitate, and/or escalate to resolve system issues, incidents, or outages. Manage a bug/issue log to fix defects across the systems/services you support. Provide excellent and timely service.
- Collaboration - Collaborate with the manager on unit goals. Execute strategic initiatives as directed. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders for daily operations and to deliver and promote unit services, initiatives, and projects.
- Project Management - Act as the lead PM for IT-related projects within the Human Resources Division and any other assigned clients or systems. Deliver defined projects (on-time, on-budget, and in scope). Plan and develop an accurate project portfolio. Manage all aspects ( schedules, resources, communications, issues, risk, and implementation).
- Training - Administer and manage the logistics of training programs related to the supported enterprise system portfolio. Train FIT employees on applications, systems, and/or tools related to the unit's supported operation.
- Documentation - Develop and maintain documentation (e.g. charters, implementation plans, user guides, knowledge base articles, etc.) for existing, modified, or new systems, applications, solutions, or services.

Job Requirements:
Education:
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of working experience in information systems services, business analysis, and/or project management with a focus on analyzing, developing, documenting, designing and delivering technology and system services for Human Resources.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience liaising, supporting and managing the technical needs and solutions for a business department, specifically Human Resources.
- Established experience managing the portfolio of a business unit, priorities and projects
- Experience designing and developing custom reports and queries
- Experience testing and debugging new and modified computer solutions
- Experience problem solving and troubleshooting technical issues
- Experience with one or more Student Information System (SIS), preferably Ellucian Banner (HR Module) or similar
- Experience working in a higher education IT environment is preferred

Additional Information:
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment.
Starting Salary: $85,860 per year with step increments per Salary Schedule 96, after one year of service and annually thereafter.
