SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and driven Detailer for our growing precast concrete team. The Detailer is primarily responsible for developing detailed take-offs and drawings by interpreting design documents and specifications.

A successful candidate should have experience in drafting and detailing with strong computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and other instructions to create accurate and constructible drawings
  
• Generate detailed shop drawings and develop an accurate bar list for fabrication of precast plant
  
• Perform detailed dimensional and bill of material checks
• Inspect design for interferences and constructability
• Perform basic and complex layouts
• Work with Precast General Manager to facilitate projects/materials start-up
• Provide detailing solutions to address various field fixes as they may arise throughout the fabrication and installation of precast concrete
• Professionally communicate with owners, client, and vendors (external and internal)
• Stay abreast of current technology and construction methods in an effort to continually improve production and quality
• Perform other related duties to support the precast team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Advanced comprehension of drawings and specifications of precast structure
• Previous detailing experience is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Must be detail orientated and have strong communication skills
