Job Summary

We are a Specialty Pharmacy seeking a Per-diem Clinical Pharmacist. An independent worker with strong problem solving skills and willingness to learn the multiple facets of our company.

This position will be covering an upcoming vacation (Oct 17 thru 21), and will remain on payroll per-diem on an as-needed basis after.

Duties and Responsibilities Provide superior customer care and service to all patients and the nurses or healthcare aids, while following all legal requirements, to include state pharmacy regulations and HIPAA.

  • Provide information or knowledge on medications and their proper indications.
  • Provide training and guidance to pharmacy interns and monitor their performance.
  • Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, verify the necessary ingredients and evaluate their suitability.
  • Ensure patients receive medications in accordance with physicians’ prescriptions.
  • Comply with the regulatory guidelines of the State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, Department of Health & Human Services, Medicare, ACHC, URAC and OSHA.
  • Work with shipping manager to ensure ALL deliveries have been made appropriately and timely
  • Monitor all technicians to ensure completion of daily activities
  • Provide comprehensive patient counseling on all specialty medications dispensed
  • Document all conversations with patients, insurance companies and doctors’ offices in detail
  • Comply with all requirements of Manufacturer programs
  • Complete annual specialty continuing education required by both ACHC and URAC
  • Participate in performance improvement activities as required

Skills and Specifications Able to use computers and software applications.

  • Knowledge of medications, dosing, side effects, indications, contraindications and proper administration and storage.
  • Knowledge of patient history and care charts.
  • Ability to complete basic patient referrals and assessments.
  • Ability to maintain quality, infection or safety control standards.
  • Ability to work even in multiple demands.
  • Maintain and promote positive attitude towards the job and company.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

Education and Qualifications B.S. in Pharmacy or a PharmD from an accredited institution

  • Current State Board of Pharmacy License
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Specialty Pharmacy preferred

Job Types: Contract, Temporary, Part-time

Pay: $55.00 per hour
