On-Site Manager
Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking an On-Site Manager based in Joliet, IL, to provide on-site support to a contingent (temporary) workforce to support the Hickory Farms, LLC account. Due to the seasonal nature of the Hickory Farms business, Headway Workforce Solutions provides ongoing staffing and management support for the Joliet-based contingent workforce that flexes in size from 10 hourly associates to over 250 hourly associates. The On-Site Manager oversees the recruiting, hiring, payroll, and employee onboarding/off-boarding and serves as the point person for ongoing communication with the hourly/non-exempt associates of Headway Workforce Solutions.
The On-Site Manager must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English with the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both languages.
As the bilingual on-site Manager, you will support the full employment cycle of Headway’s associates at the Hickory Farms’ Distribution Center in Joliet, IL. This role reports to our HQ location in Raleigh, NC, where we provide additional guidance and account support. The on-site Hickory Farms team will also provide daily support and information to assist in the success of this role.
Additional Responsibilities
- Recruiting associates to fill assignments that are several weeks to several months in length for roles including but not limited to forklift drivers, assembly workers, and bin loaders. This includes managing on-site drop-in and scheduled interviewing, providing pre-employment testing, extending offers, and scheduling onboarding sessions
- Maintain all necessary records and ensure compliance with all federal and state guidelines, including accurately submitting and reviewing payroll data
- Assist on-site Headway associates with questions (process, procedures, payroll), and provide necessary education (on-boarding, safety training, etc.) on a regular basis
- Work with Hickory Farms warehouse teams on planning for staffing levels that align with production schedules
Training and Communication
- Coordinate with the HQ resources at Headway to understand and provide Hickory Farms warehouse teams with updates on data to help manage all facets of the business as it relates to the ongoing needs of the business and associates’ role toward that joint success
- Manage employee relations needs of the workforce and communicate with the Hickory Farms warehouse team any information to help support any situations
- Be available and present in the warehouse; be an active advocate and resource to associates
- Be approachable and have a friendly and helpful attitude and aim to listen and assist the needs of associates
- Be a creative and proactive problem solver
Other
- Perform other office duties as needed which include but are not limited to ordering office supplies for the site, ordering lunch for associates and/or facility meetings or gatherings
- Manage incentive programs for associates
- Maintain necessary relationships and networks to broadcast job openings and attract candidates for open roles
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be bilingual (English and Spanish) and able to write, speak and effectively communicate in both languages
- Four-year degree is preferred, or commensurate experience combined with advanced education
- Must have working knowledge of employment, OSHA and other laws to maintain a safe and effective workplace
- Must have previous experience with a large non-exempt, hourly workforce
- Must have experience with contingent/temporary workforces
- Must have a helpful disposition and be willing to listen, help and respond to associate needs and concerns in a timely manner
- Ability to keep up in a fast-paced and busy office environment while maintaining effective organization, time management, and communication
- Knowledge of Windows, MS Word, and Excel
