Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Norwalk Primary Care - Full Time, 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts between 7:45am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Summary:
This position will serve as the central access point for scheduling to the primary care medical practices in the Norwalk Area. Responds to incoming correspondence from patients, caregivers, healthcare workers, and beyond, in accordance with patient privacy and safety standards, with the primary goal of scheduling office visits and handling related inquiries.

Responsibilities:
1. Answer incoming phone calls (or other communication channels) for Primary Care appointment scheduling, canceling, rescheduling, patient registration and documentation.

2. Performs reception of customers and communicates pleasantly and effectively.

3. Identify patient/customer needs, clarify information, research issues, and provide solutions for Primary Care scheduling at first contact.

4. Registers, verifies and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.

5. Follows call processing guidelines and information with a high level of accuracy.

6. Processes record requests, including the copying, billing, charging and recording.

7. Collects co-pays and reconciles moneys for deposit.

8. Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.

9. Completes audits as assigned.

10. Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation and correspondence via eFax.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:
High School Diploma / GED

1 year customer service

Excellent Communication •

Preferred: 1+ years of healthcare experience

Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Demonstrates initiative and continually strives to enhance the credibility of the practice

Seeks guidance and direction appropriately.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively and exhibit composure in a fast-paced environment.

Grade: S3

Salary Range:
$15.3000 - $28.2200 Hourly
