Experienced certified Medical coding Specialist familiar with Athena Health whose main duties will include reviewing medical documentation in the EHR and assigning codes to medical procedures and diagnosis. Other duties and responsibilities include making sure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations. Complying with medical coding standards and guidelines as well as policies and procedures using the Correct Coding Initiative, Receiving and reviewing patient records and documents for verification and accuracy, Following up and clarifying any information that is not clear to other staff members. Collecting information made by the physician from different sources to prepare monthly reports. Implementing strategic procedures and choosing strategies and evaluation methods that provide correct results. Following up claims with Insurance Carriers and resubmitting clean claims.
The candidate should be certified as a Medical Coding Specialist/ Medical Coder and have at least 2 years of experience in coding guidelines and be fluent in English
Employee has the option to work from the Brownsville or Weslaco Office
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
