Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, Lead, or Manager the Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities requiring a general knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, carpentry, fabrication and sheet metal duct work. As a maintenance helper, some of these skills can be learned through on the job training.
You will have the opportunity to:

Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties. Make necessary repairs or adjustments.

Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components to include: dismantling, inspecting, or replacing of purchased parts.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.

Work with an experienced member of the maintenance department to learn key skills, safety requirements, and expand maintenance knowledge.

Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds, including lawn mowing and snow removal.
REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge of mechanical repairs, plumbing, hydraulics and carpentry

Technical training, and demonstrated mechanical aptitude preferred
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
