Job Title: Maintenance/Custodian

Summary

The Maintenance/Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance
and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in
a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

Essential Functions:

• Clean offices and recreational facilities.
• Mop tile and concrete floor area, Vacuum all carpeted area.
• Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures.
• Clean all mirrors, and replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed.
• Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans and place garbage in outside storage bin.
• Clean entrance and exit including glass, doors and hardware.
• Keep outside area near exit and entrance clear of snow, cans, paper, etc.
• Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs.
• Report damages and acts of vandalism.
• Wash and buff floors with floor polisher.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalency.

• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures including maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines at all times.

handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking, and
sitting, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust
focus.

Work environment: The incumbent works alone, with others, and around others, verbal contact
with others, face-to-face contact, inside, outside, extended days, confined areas, extreme
heat/cold, temperature changes, wet and/or humid, noise, mechanical and electrical equipment,
high places, fumes/odors, and dirt/dust. Performs a wide variety of duties.
