Job Description Summary Perform preventive maintenance and equipment repairs in support of production. Equipment includes mechanical presses and hammers, vibratory stock feeders, induction heaters, conveyor systems, magnetic particle inspection, and abrasive shot cleaning.
Job Description
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Required Skills and Education
Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective plant safety operations for the protection of people, data, and property. Follow lock out, tag out regulations.
