Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NCYBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking an LPN to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Clinics from Southampton to NYC. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day per week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.

In this role, you will:

• Follow all NYCBS policies and procedures.
• Assist physicians with patient office visits, including administering injections, recording vital signs including pulse rate, blood pressure, respiration count, temperature, height and weight, and enters information in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Perform administrative tasks, including form completions, prescription refills, referrals and providing patient educational material.
• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduces the potential for medical error.
• Field patient telephone calls and responds accordingly.
• Compile and assists providers in responses to triages from team members and patients received by phone or electronic messages.
• Participate in AM huddle as assigned.
• Demonstrate appropriate hand washing technique to ensure proper infection control and follows universal precautions.
• Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

We require:

• A current NYS LPN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs.
• An understanding of clinical risk.
• The ability to practice consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.

Hours: Full-time Monday–Friday

Weekend Requirement- Sat & Sun every 12 weeks

Salary up to $35 per hour.
