Location(s): Jacksonville, FL

Shift/Schedule: 4 to 5 Days - 32 to 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our patients. They must have thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, and possess a general understanding of body treatments. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our patients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
  • Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints.
  • Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
  • Design sessions around client’s specific complaints or problem areas.
  • Administer therapy treatments to patients using hands or physical treatment aids.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the medical centers policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the center that require attention.
  • Handle patients questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by patients.
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the center.
  • Ensures that day-to-day pain center activities and work-flow operate smoothly.
  • Ascertains that medical records are thorough, complete and created in timely manner.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School or Technical school education.
  • Current and valid state license for massage therapy
  • 1+ years’ experience as a professional massage therapist
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience working in a therapy center environment preferred
