LEP Interventionist Aide Job at Waller Independent School District
POSITIONS:
LEP (Limited English Proficiency) Interventionist Aide
Will be a split employee for Waller and Schultz Junior High Schools (Grades 6-8)
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Works with classroom Teachers servicing English Language Learners. Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with bilingual interventions and management of the class.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma
Prefer 48 hours of college credit OR pass the district paraprofessional exams
Prefer valid educational aide certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be fluent (verbal and writing skills) in the Spanish and English languages
Ability to work well with students and staff
Ability to assist classroom teacher(s) in carrying out the instructional program
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to use personal computer
Experience:
Three years experience as classroom aide or 30 semester hours of college credit with emphasis
in child growth and development preferred
SALARY / WORK DAYS: Para Pay Grade 3 (hourly pay range minimum is $ 14.32) working 7.5 hours daily, 187 days annually
