The Flippin Sweet has been serving Kearney for years, but now under a new and excited owner! We want to extend our hours to better serve the community and we're looking to add dedicated and hard working members to our team. We're now accepting applicants and holding interviews for potential candidates to help us build this already beloved establishment into all it can be with a team who loves what they do. We're building a kitchen staff that will learn and elevate the current menu while helping bring our new ideas to life and we need a kitchen manager to help our menu flourish and lead the cooks to success!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation of food service staff
  • Monitor quality of products and services produced
  • Adjust daily schedule for shift personnel to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies
  • Maintain health standards for raw and finished products
  • Communicate efficiently with food service staff and restaurant general manager
  • Contribute new ideas for menu items with cost, inventory, and current menu in mind
  • Check food plating and temperature
  • Establish portion sizes
  • Price menu items in collaboration with ownership
  • Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
  • Keep weekly and monthly cost reports

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service or other related fields
  • Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Che
  • Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
  • Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
  • Knowledge of common food safety practices
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Conflict management abilities
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
  • Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,200.00 per year
