The Farmers Insurance Protege Program is designed to give aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow their skills & experience the day-to-day excitement of running their own insurance agency, under the guidance of a Farmers Insurance Mentor Agent.
With the training of a Farmers Insurance mentor agent, Nationally Recognized University of Farmers online training, and local district office you will be exposed to all facets of how to operate a successful business.
As a Farmers Future Agency Owner, or Agent Protege, you will have the opportunity to unlimited earning potential based on sales, while being able to learn the insurance business from the inside out.

- Firsthand experience on how Agencies are effectively run
- Income based on a Base salary plus Commission structure

- Multiple entry points to Agency ownership upon successful graduation from the Protege Program
Responsibilities
- Obtain your Insurance Producer's licenses in Property & Casualty, and Life & Health
- Spend 6-12 months in the Protege role (time-based upon each individual)
- Program has set sales and growth goals to keep you on track
- Compensated on a base plus commission structure
- Work closely with the Agency Owner to gain an understanding of the Agent Ownership role.
- Leads will be provided to help generate sales
- Immersed into the Farmers culture and the insurance industry
- Given the opportunity to work with the Agency owner and the District office to learn the recruiting process
Requirements
- Be comfortable with a sales-related career based on commission and obtaining sales-related goals
- Must have or be able to quickly obtain Insurance Producer's licenses in Property & Casualty, Life & Health from the State of Texas.
- Self-confidence, perseverance, the ability to remain positive and maintain progress towards a goal in spite of obstacles and adversity
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and act effectively without direction
- Ability to effectively relate to customers
- Experience with Microsoft Products
- Experience developing and following a prospecting plan
- A track record of exceeding sales goals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
