Histology Assistant Job at Lake Region Healthcare
The purpose of this position is to lend support to the histology technicians in the pathology department. This position reports directly to the Histology Technical Coordinator. The Histology Assistant has contact with hospital employees, volunteers, community personnel, physicians, and outreach clients, therefore requiring effective interpersonal and communication skills. The incumbent has access to sensitive, confidential information and must be able to maintain those confidences. The incumbent establishes the work procedures and priorities within imposed deadlines.
A high school or equivalent level of education is preferred; requires the ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing and ability to operate computer/word processing equipment and typewriter. Understanding of medical terminology and general clerical experience desirable.
