Help Desk/Desktop Technician (IT I) - FT Job at Hocking Valley Community Hospital
Hocking Valley Community Hospital (HVCH) is currently seeking a Help Desk/Desktop Technician (IT I) to join our friendly, hard-working patient-centered team for the following shifts:
- Full time, Days, M-F
- Must be able to take on-call for evenings, weekends, and holidays (rotating schedule) and must live in locale conducive with taking on-call
- Pay rate starts at $19.60/hr+ based on experience
HVCH is a 25 bed critical access hospital (CAH) with a Rural Health Clinic (Family and Pediatric services) and over 325 employees who serve the residents and visitors of rural Logan, Ohio. HVCH has various ancillary and 24-hour emergency care services offering excellent health and well-being aid to Hocking County and surrounding areas. We are nestled in the heart of the beautiful Hocking Hills Region in southeastern Ohio. We are affiliated with OSU Wexner Medical Center and part of the Ohio State Health Network.

We Require
- Previous working experience as an IT Help Desk Technician for at least 2 years . Those without professional work experiences as a IT Help Desk Tech will not be considered.
- Must have at least Associates in IT, Computer Science, or similar relevant field.
- In-depth knowledge of computer systems and mobile devices .
- Hands on experience with diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-oriented and patient.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, setup and troubleshooting of basic network issues.
- Knowledge of cabling, network peripherals, and network infrastructure best practices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first contact with customers who need technical assistance via the phone, email, or ticketing system
- Perform troubleshooting using different diagnostic techniques
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical hardware and/or software issues
- Provide quick resolution and excellent customer service
- Redirect unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide needed information on IT products or services
- Keep record of problems and their resolution
- Follow-up with customers
- Provide feedback on processes and make recommendations on areas to improve
- Maintain technical documentation and service catalog on installation of software, configuration of hardware and problem troubleshooting
- Install hardware and software as directed
- Suggest improvements to procedures
- Other duties as assigned
