General Description
Responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of the fitness department in order to create satisfied members participating in fitness programming, activities, events and facility usage.

Responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of the fitness department in order to create satisfied members participating in fitness programming, activities, events and facility usage.

- Recruit, train and supervise fitness staff. Schedule all departmental staff.
- Ensure positive image of the club through responsive member communication and knowledge of club programs, services and facilities.
- Develop annual budget for fitness department wages. Monitor financial results versus budget to ensure the club stays within budgeted amounts.
- Organize, plan, budget, evaluate and promote fitness orientations, activities, programs and social events.
- Maintain high visibility and regularly interact with club members to promote fitness and other activities of the club. Maintain active involvement in the fitness community as a representative of the club.
- Schedule the fitness orientations and room usage for all fitness training activities.
- Write, edit and oversee club articles, flyers and brochures related to fitness.
- Prepare for, attend and participate in regular meetings with the Club Manager and in monthly department head meetings.
- Oversee and engage in the administration of all program sign-ups.
- Make scheduled appearances and promotions for the club.
- Support and enforce all club rules and regulations as a staff team member.
- Prepare for, attend and participate in weekly meetings with the General Manager, monthly department head meetings, Annual All Staff Meeting and any other scheduled meeting.
- Keep required statistics and records.
- Responsible for Manager on Duty as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience and certifications with the fitness industry.
- Management experience.
- The ability to manage your time effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, related degree and/or extensive experience in the field.
- CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire.
Additional Information
- Position is Full Time
- Compensation is $55,000 per year depending on experience
