The Volvo Trucks North America New River Valley Plant, located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, is the largest plant globally within the Volvo Group and is home to 100% of all Volvo trucks produced for the North American market.

Your mission
Reporting to the Manager of Cost Accounting and Inventory Control, you are part of the Business Control team. Your mission will be to assure and improve inventory control and accuracy of warehouse operations. You will assist the Logistics Director through robust and timely financial analysis. You will contribute to the improvement of processes, reporting tools, dashboards, and the optimization of financial information flows via digitalization. You generate ideas and think outside of the box with an audacious attitude.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
As a true Business Partner with Operations, your main missions will be:
- Establish procedures and controls to assure the accuracy of inventory within the systems
- Contribute to timely and quality monthly closings and reporting by analyzing and understanding inventory data and reconciling discrepancies to forecast
- Translate the collected data into goals and objectives for material planners and warehouse managers that are quantifiable and measurable
- Champion and drive continuous improvement through communication and coaching associates to drive efficiency in warehouse functions
- Support short and long-term warehousing strategies that support business growth and objectives
- Audit various warehouse activities, including receiving, material consumption and shipment
- Be the process and solution key user of SAP for stock accounting
- Ad hoc analysis

To be successful in this role, you must have proven analytical skills, and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. You should also have outstanding skills in developing and implementing processes to include experience with period/year-end closing.
In addition, excellent communication and presentation skills are in order to communicate successfully with internal and external stakeholders at different levels of the organization locally, nationally, and globally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or significant, successful experience in an accounting or financial position in a corporate setting
- Candidate must be detail-oriented with an ability to understand inventory and supply-chain environment
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, including manipulation of large and complex data
- Digital savvy to support a data-to-information journey (SAP, Power BI, Power Apps)
- Strong personal credibility, integrity, and creativity
- Strong communicator with good influencing skills, able to create trustful relations
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, to set demanding targets and to motivate teams and individuals to deliver outside their comfort zones
- Good understanding of AB Volvo financial reporting processes and systems is a plus
