Job Title: Field Service Representative

Job Purpose:

Provide technical liaison between the company and the customer in the maintenance and support of company products. Provide direct support to the customer in the development of engineering changes, engineering investigations, and during the installation of new equipment. Develop lesson plans and conduct training for customer personnel in the maintenance and upkeep of company products. Evaluate proposed changes to technical manuals and provide feedback and recommendations to the company and customers. Maintain a full set of test equipment to support customer requirements. Provide supply support to include management of spares and assistance in resolving spare part shortages. When directed by the customer, serve as a distribution point for spare parts, change kits, and test equipment.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the company point of contact between the company and customer, including individual operating units.
  • Provide technical support and training for all levels of maintenance on both seats and seat test equipment.
  • Provide technical support for change development, failure investigations, and installation activities.
  • Assist the customer in resolving spare parts shortages for seats and seat test equipment.
  • Keep the company informed on potential issues from the customer concerning product performance.
  • As directed, maintain, and distribute spare parts for seats and seat test equipment.
  • Coordinate efforts with technical and customer personnel to resolve issues.

Experience/Education:

Required:

Position requires a High School diploma or GED. Position requires a minimum of ten years military experience in the support and maintenance of ejection seats and at least five years' experience with Martin-Baker Aircraft Company ejection seats. Familiarity with U.S. Navy and/or U.S. Air Force internal support organizations and supply systems is required.

US Security clearance will be required, to Secret level or above.

Preferred:

Formal training in preparation of lesson plans and conducting training is preferred.


Specific Skills:

Technical Ability

Position requires an understanding of the maintenance of ejection seat systems from component replacement to overhaul, including removal and reinstallation of seats into aircraft. Position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must have the ability to accurately understand and interpret product drawings, and specifications of moderate complexity.

Communications

Position requires the ability to clearly communicate oral and written information to subordinates, peers, and superiors.

Leadership

Position requires demonstrated leadership skills necessary to develop and lead a team of military and civilian professionals and individuals not under direct control.

Management

Position requires a demonstrated ability to work independently without direct oversight.

Teamwork

Position requires demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates, peers, and senior management.


Other Requirements:

Physical Ability

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the facility. Will be required to lift material not exceeding 50 lbs. Must be able to use hand tools and operate test equipment.

Travel

Occasional local travel is expected with this position. Overseas travel may be required for reviews with Martin-Baker Aircraft.

Work Environment

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields. For the most part the employee will be exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment.
