Engagement Specialist Job at Mental Health Center Of East Centra
The Engagement Specialist is responsible for managing, reporting, and communicating with staff and clients regarding the No Show Policy. This requires both interpersonal and data management skills. The Engagement Specialist identifies barriers to participation in treatment, problem solves with clients to seek solutions to their treatment barriers and start Discharge/Transfer planning for clients that cannot be re-engaged in treatment services.
Essential Functions

- Contact clients that are not attending scheduled service appointments to identify barriers to treatment and help solve barriers to treatment.
- Schedules and reschedules appointments for staff in electronic medical record according to client or provider staff schedule changes for the designated site.
- Tracking data regarding clients that have missed or are not attending scheduled appointments.
- Accurately enters all required appointment information into electronic medical record.
- Communicates with provider staff regarding cancelling and rescheduling client appointments. Resolves cancelled services in the electronic medical record and communicates promptly calendar changes to the relevant staff.
- Follows up with clients to reschedule any missed appointments.
- Accurately documents interactions with clients in the electronic medical record.
- Builds effective, professional relationships by working in partnership with patients and families while emphasizing patient strengths, choice, and empowerment. Assessments and all patient interactions are delivered in a trauma-informed and respectful manner with integration of cultural competency across diverse populations.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This position does not require travel.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Human Services field.

Ability to work with persons with serious emotional disturbance and/or severe and persistent mental illness; possess competency in conducting highly-organized and detail-oriented work; possess demonstrated interpersonal and problem-solving skills and ability to work with large volumes of information in an efficient manner and to manage complex information processes and make enhancements; possess excellent customer service skills; ability to handle and respect confidential, sensitive information; possess prior computer experience in Microsoft Office programs and moderate to advanced computer fluency.
