Distributor Sales Job at Mercer-Zimmerman Inc Structura Inc
Mercer-Zimmerman, a leading commercial lighting manufacturers’ sales agency in the Midwest, is looking for an experienced outside sales person to work with electrical distributors in the Omaha/Lincoln market.
This position is responsible building relationships related to lighting products and controls, and achieving goals within your territory. The majority of time will be focused on growing awareness and building preference for our manufactures’ products and programs with electrical distributors. As part of this position you will work closely with the manufacturers' sales and technical teams as an advocate and product expert to your accounts.
Major Functions
- Develop relationships and work with distributors on project and stock business.
- Conduct technical, sales, and product trainings in the territory or at manufacturer’s facility.
- Provide service and support to customers during design, construction, and post project completion.
- Maintain field intelligence on competitor’s activities and new product developments
- Report sales and call activities on a regular basis
- Develop and distribute consistent product pricing.
Requirements, Skills and Abilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- A high level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel
- Strong relationship-building and relationship management skills
- Ability to operate with a minimum amount of supervision while consistently delivering annual goals.
- Understanding of inventory management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience
- BA/BS Degree preferred but not required.
- Commercial electrical or industrial wholesale experience preferred or relevant professional experience.
