Position Summary

Appareo is seeking a Director of Electrical and Electronic Design Engineering with a passion for engineering. You must be a self-starter and ready to work independently and be an exceptional team player to ensure a quality product is provided to our customers. In the industries of Agriculture, Aviation, and IoT this role will be responsible for the following:

• Uses creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving routine and unprecedented problems
• Makes decisions and recommendations that are authoritative and have an important impact on extensive organizational activities Sets priorities and reconciles directions from competing interests
• Works on major portions of programs with complex features and scope
• Projects and fosters a culture of customer focus while balancing company priorities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Routinely interacts with organization leaders, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others
• Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials, or other organizations and companies
• Demonstrates skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
• Responsible for developing the annual budget for his or her area
• Responsible for operating his or her area within the framework of the approved annual operating budget

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Experience: 15+ years of electronic design experience including radio frequency, GPS, cellular, mixed signal, and high-speed designs with a strong emphasis in RF and EMC design
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
• Advanced formal training in engineering management a plus
• Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
• Experience with schematic capture tools and circuit simulation tools
• Experience implementing and documenting electronic design processes
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
