Statement of Job:
The Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is responsible for recognizing, creating and implementing plans to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the agency. They will be responsible for promoting training programs, investigating claims and identifying areas for personal growth for our employees, facilitating the diversity and inclusion council and overseeing the rollout of various initiatives around cultural awareness. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in creating, developing, implementing and assessing agency diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
- 5+ years’ experience coaching and advising leaders and organizations.
- Exceptional communication skills exhibited at all levels within an organization.
- Experience with research and data analysis and translating internal and external trends into innovative and creative practices.
- Excellent skills in conflict resolution and mediation methods.
- Knowledge of trends and best practices in global diversity education/training, as well as applicable laws such as ADA and EEO.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop and support the execution of the overall Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy with a focus on attracting, developing, including and retaining diverse talent.
- Research and advise on diversity, equity and inclusion issues and create programs, trainings and values around this, in conjunction with the diversity and inclusion council.
- Facilitate the Diversity and Inclusion Council and oversee the work of any sub committees formed.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure alignment of DEI strategies across all programs.
- Build and maintain employee awareness of programs and initiatives, oversee the development of relevant communications and inspire commitment from program management and all employees.
- Maintain and monitor records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Develop and analyze reports for management; identify internal and external trends and recognize best practices which will increase diversity amongst the workforce.
- Support and guide the recruitment team to help create a brand that appeals to diverse applicants and removes bias.
- Build networks to assist with diversifying our recruitment efforts.
- Review the agency’s workplace policies and procedures, ensuring they are all equitable and inclusive.
- Handle all employee relation issues associated with concerns of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; determine if there are trends and recommend appropriate course of action for improvement.
- In conjunction with Human Resources, review exit and stay interview metrics, including tracking and defining key metrics, to assist with identifying retention tactics.
- Ensure confidentiality of all employee/agency information.
- Other duties as assigned.
