ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Responsible for providing oversight and direction for all aspects of the Campbell Lodge. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, including programming, procedures, guidelines, food service to residents, maintenance, safety & security. The Director will also oversee all resident intakes, to initiate resident familiarity with program guidelines, and to properly assess an individual’s appropriateness before admission.. Manages and monitors all staff. Has primary responsibility for community relations and interagency events. Is also the spiritual leader for the staff in spreading the message and commission of Jesus in Matthew 25. Ensures that the overall plans/ goals adhere to the SMH mission statement, which is "providing a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined."

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Interview and select, provide orientation, supervise training, and provide job development opportunities for staff and volunteers
  • Supervise and assist all site staff in the day-to-day operations
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of resident records consistent with accepted case management practices.
  • Provides appropriate referrals, including linkages to community services, employment services, legal services, and financial management services. Networks and coordinates with community resources for housing, legal services, employment, substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, training, medical etc.
  • Audits resident records for quality assurance and care of residents.
  • Oversees compliance with policies and procedures
  • Ensures proper maintenance of facility using the work ticket system.
  • Maintains an open door policy with staff for listening, praying, teaching as needed arise.
  • Coaches staff and residents through personal example and discipleship
  • Conducts annual performance reviews of all staff.
  • Ensures program fees are current and waivers are properly processed
  • Responsible for verification and reconciliation of petty cash.
  • Plans and coordinate life skills classes and education to assist residents in obtaining skills that will enable to cope with their personal situations.
  • Obtains and utilizes volunteers for workshops as needed.
  • Establish an annual operations budget for the program and manages expenses within the budget.
  • Work directly with the Hunger and Homeless Coalition(s) to impact the state of homelessness in the Collier County and surrounding areas.
  • As needed, attends meeting with representatives of other agencies to keep the community up to date regarding shelter operations, as well as keeping staff up to date on services provided by outside agencies.
  • Maintains and develops relationships with outside vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Shelters and Housing
Requirements:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, addiction, business management or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with homeless and vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to work as a team leader, supervise staff, coordinate activities with other staff to meet overall objectives within specified timeframes
  • Possesses training and/or work experience in case management, problem solving, leadership, and conflict management.
  • Ability to provide firm but compassionate care for residents.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize large volumes of activity and workload
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to travel to locations as needed. This role is required to maintain primary auto insurance minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury, $100,000 property damage or $300,000 combined single limit. Must be an approved St. Matthew’s House driver.
