We are looking for a Director of Distributed Generation Partnerships to join our team to focus on expanding our portfolio of managed distributed generation & energy storage (DGES) assets such as cogeneration, solar, batteries and combined micro-grids. These assets are to be monetized in markets and utility programs in which CPower participates, including Demand Response programs, Distributed Energy Resource (DER) solutions, and evolving storage and renewable monetization. Position could be remote/home office based, with a strong consideration for ease of national travel.

The CPower Director of Distributed Generation Partnerships will identify opportunities through multiple channels, cultivating and maintaining relationships with third party owners, developers and operators of distributed generation assets.

This is a Remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Seek, meet and develop relationships with third party owners, developers, financiers, and operators of distributed generation assets, interface with executive officers, leaders, their staff and legal representatives for purposes of developing and executing strategically aligned business relationships and partnership agreements.
  • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline of partnership opportunities. Actively manage prospect pipeline in the CRM, updating status, projected enrollment, create account plans and expansion strategies.
  • Proactively assess market to develop potential candidates in key markets as targets and set-up introductory meetings.
  • Manage sales process and work across functions (e.g. regional and national sales, engineering, etc) to contract with customer, enable, and enroll assets in programs.
  • Contribute to CPower Strategy as warranted and provide input to Strategy & BD and Market Development team to inform CPower view on customer wants/needs, technology, policy positions, ongoing strategy and other relevant subjects.
  • Provide periodic sessions to educate sales team on DGES opportunities to help capture new leads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have energy, and/or distributed energy resource related experience.
  • Demonstrated development and implementation of distributed energy solutions with C&I, Public Facilities and industry partners.
  • Working knowledge of energy markets, and the power/utilities industry. Experience with Demand Response (DR) programs helpful.
  • Effective communicator in speaking engagements, formal sales presentations, one-on-one sales calls, internal meetings, and in print.
  • Possesses strong listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations and customer management personnel.
  • Organized and analytical.
  • Maintain consistent customer follow up, able to manage multiple activities at the same time, and able to communicate complex information in an understandable way.
  • Dedicated team player with interpersonal skills enabling easy integration into a fast moving, hard-working team.
  • Strong ethical character that operates in a highly visible, diverse, and collegial environment.
  • Customer focused. Strong sense of urgency regarding addressing customer related issues.
  • 7-10 years of strategic business to business and/or consultative selling or 5 years energy (electricity/utility) related selling experience.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM systems.
  • Experience working in any of the North American deregulated power markets (PJM, NE-ISO, NYISO, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, and CAISO) is a plus.
  • Travel required to meet with prospects and customers, conferences etc., and CPower office/s to coordinate workstreams (expected to require 1-2 weeks/month).
