Summary/Objective:

Based on standard operating policies, procedures and practices to procure raw materials, supplies, services, parts and equipment required in the operation of the business to ensure on-time delivery and optimizing pricing that is consistent with quality, quantity, delivery and terms.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Obtain quotes for materials included in project plans, drawings and material take-offs.

• Identify and qualify potential new suppliers.

• Prepare daily purchase orders for acquisition of items with a goal of controlling cost, and vendor delivery, performance and product quality.

• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers for materials on all projects.

• Serve as liaison between company and suppliers regarding all changes in, or problems with material deliveries to meet project schedules.

• Schedule deliveries of materials to job sites while ensuring team members have appropriate materials, tools, personal protective equipment and inventory to complete project.

• Coordinate with superintendents and project managers to document timely supplier material returns toward the close of each project.

• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements of materials and services.

• Work with accounting to resolve any PO/supplier payment issues.

• Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximize efficiency and control costs within the business.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred, APICS or ISM Training

• 3-8 years of Procurement experience required, preferably in a construction environment

• Strong negotiating skills

• Strategic procurement

• Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and purchase order software platforms

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Impeccable attention to detail

• Ability to work well with a team

• Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
