The position is responsible for coordinating the activities of Banquet Operations and / or Events.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine.

Safe – Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Friendly - Use Family Style Service to provide superior guest service.

Fun – Have fun! Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards.

Coordinates the activities of banquet staff engaged in providing courteous and rapid service.

Plans details for banquets, receptions, and other social functions and execute details for banquets. Directs setting up of tables and decorations.

Completes all reports required by management.

Responsible for organizing activities of other banquet staff.

Attends meetings as required.

Knowledge of all special events and promotional activities available to guest.

Other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The position is responsible to the Banquet Manager for successful performance of assigned duties.

EQUIPMENT/PHYSICAL SKILLS

Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, the following

Food service equipment

Dishes, silverware, linen, trays, glassware, etc.

Use of heavy trays, chaffers, chairs, and tables

Basic office equipment

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical demands associated with the position including, but not limited to, the following:

Walking – consistently throughout shift

Lifting – consistently throughout shift (up to 40lbs. without assistance)

Bending – consistently throughout shift

Banquet ballroom, meeting rooms, pool deck, and suites. Varied temperatures and use of elevator, escalator, and stairs. Casino environment exposed to various temperatures, smoke, dust and fumes, various light levels and excessive noise levels. May include boat and/or floating barge. High rise hotel and atrium. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of catering and food service.

Knowledge of mixology and the laws governing the service of alcohol.

Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.

Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.

Ability to execute and establish standardized training.

Ability to work without immediate supervision at the required pace to meet company’s and guest’s expectations.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Ability to operate POS or cash register systems.

Ability to operate and understand basic computer programs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Two years’ experience in a catering and / or high volume food and beverage industry

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Ability to obtain and hold a Louisiana Responsible Vendor's card and an Alcohol Beverage Control card. Ability to obtain and hold any and all licenses, certifications, insurance coverage or any other indemnifications which may be required by the company for the successful completion of the duties associated with this position.
