We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Bridge Inspection Group in our New York City office. We currently have numerous bridge inspection projects, including biennial and condition inspections for small and large-scale fixed and moveable bridge structures. We are seeking the employment of a structural engineer to fulfill the duties of an assistant team leader on these bridge inspection projects. Preferably we are looking for hard-working highly motivated, committed engineers who can be assigned numerous tasks. We are offering a great opportunity for engineers to pursue a career-oriented in bridge inspection with the intent for them to step into leadership roles within our bridge inspection department eventually. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform structural design calculations (beam design, reinforced concrete and steel structures design and analysis), sketches, computer modeling, and similar technical work as required
- Ability to read and develop contract plans, special provisions, and engineer’s estimates
- Assist with field inspections and condition assessments of transportation structures and facilities
- Research design options and codes and discuss with project manager
Requirements:
- BS or ME in Civil or Structural Engineering with zero to two years of relevant experience
- EI (preferred) or the ability to obtain FE certification
- Experience with analytical software such as SAP, CSI Bridge, Midas, etc.
- Experience with CAD software such as Microstation or AutoCAD
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working at heights
- Highly motivated and responsible individual with a strong work ethic
Annual Salary: $72k – $83k
