Job Summary
We are hiring for an exciting new position with an anticipated start date of 6/26/23 or as soon as possible!! This position will report to the Nursing Department/Division Chair and is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative duties involving complex office support and coordination, along with basic student advising and processing. In this role you will have contact with internal and external partners, including students, faculty, and community leaders.
Essential Functions
25% Schedules, prioritizes, coordinates, and performs administrative support for nursing programs or services; provides customer support.
25% Assists with research, gathers information, compiles, and reviews program information; communicates with internal and external constituents regarding nursing program information.
15% Researches, designs, and creates complex documents, correspondence, and other communication materials.
15% Prepares and maintains schedules, coordinates calendars, oversees the maintenance of files, records, database information, and documentation related to nursing programs, and does so according to established policies and procedures.
10% Monitors and tracks budgets, funding, and expenditures and assists with budget preparation.
10% Coordinates projects, events, and activities; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of administrative office support or related experience providing a wide variety of secretarial, administrative office support and/or administrative coordination activities.
OR
HS Diploma/GED and four (4) years of administrative office support or related experience providing a wide variety of secretarial, administrative office support and/or administrative coordination activities.
Desired Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in higher education
- Two or more years of experience in student or administrative services in an educational setting
- Two or more years of experience with authoring original reports, documents, and/or presentations
- Experience with coordinating large events (graduations, orientations, etc.)
- Experience with computerized student information systems (for example PeopleSoft)
- Experience with online email/calendar systems (for example, Google Mail/Calendar, Outlook, etc.)
Special Working Conditions
- May be required to travel to all GateWay campuses
- May require occasional evenings or weekends.
- Will require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
- May require lifting objects weighing up to 40lbs.
- MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
