$60,000 - $75,000 Annual Salary

Yard Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in all operations involving containers/trailers on premises
• Ensure terminal security, cleanliness and safety standards are adhered to
• Locate containers in the yard using electronic handheld devices
• Assist in spotting cranes and guiding safe crane operations
• Take inventory by organizing stacks according to container numbers
• Supervise gate clerks, yard spotters and other yard personnel
• Operate walkie talkies, handheld computers and terminal tracing applications
• Responsible for the daily inspection of equipment and trailers, including safety checks while adhering to applicable regulations and procedures; document and report all maintenance and safety issues
• Responsible for completing daily yard checks; all documentation to be completed and submitted in a timely manner

Yard Supervisor Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the transportation industry
• Ability to work well under pressure and require minimal supervision
• Demonstrate a professional attitude at all times
• Preferably bilingual but not required
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts
